Hunting with pvs 14 only

I have access to a set of pvs 14 goggles and was wondering what the best way to go from scanning to shooting called in coyotes. My idea was a laser aiming devise like a dbal, or possibly an RMR mounted on my rail. How far can you accurately hit with a infra red laser? Would an RMR turned down even work?

It only depends on how accurately you zero the laser. But, if you had an 100 zero, that should work good enough to just aim top of fur at 200. really just depends on your laser zero.
 
I was more asking about is one better than the other. I can borrow the pvs 14, so I would rather buy an RMR that I can use without night vision later.or am i missing something. How large is the laser for at 100 yards?

with a set of PVS14s a tiny laser is all it would take. You can see the laser in the air, and what it is splashing on. A laser pointer would work if you had a mount for it that would adjust zero.

Just set the PVS over the non-dominant eye, after you zero.

I would get one that mounts and adjusts for zero. Then shoot using a lead sled, and fire the shot, get the scope on the hole, then (helps with a second set of hands) to adjust the laser to where you want it. (same method basically as the single shot zero) A regular laser makes this possible during the day without nvg. otherwise you have to do this at dusk to make it easier.
 
I would skip the RMR and go with an ir laser. Its point and click easy

That's what I thought. I bought a unit with a slaved IR/Viz green laser. You can't see a green laser in daylight, so it's still a dusk deal. Couple that with no night hunting where I live and it does not make zeroing easy. I'm trying another method. I sighted in a red dot, and adjusted the visible laser to it. I have not tested it yet. I will have to shoot out my house window (suppressed) so have not verified if it works yet.

It should work. I adjust my IR laser using my Sightmark Photon....no problems so far. A lot easier than just adjusting by itself.
