Was looking around and came up on this from the shot show. It's a 416 hush puppy. Says its like having a shotgun in a AR platform? Hmm...I think they need to get back with regular components and slow down a bit on all these off boards? Sure it might be fun to shoot but how much are .416 bullets compared to any other. Idk

Ballistics
Guess its a 450gr hornady bthp
.742 bc

Based on that info (at 1000fps) and a 100 yd zero you get...

50 yds: +3.7" (972.4 fps)
150 yds: -12.9" (959.7 fps)
200 yds: -35.2" (947.6 fps)
300 yds: -109.2" (924.9 fps)
400 yds: - 223.8" (904.0 fps)
500 yds: -381.0" (884.6 fps)

Some guys seem to like the 458 Bushy, etc. The gun co's should be doing R&D and promotion now for what will be selling in a couple of years when (hopefully) the gun world returns to normal, and normal isn't selling so much anymore. Maybe the 416 works out to be the ultimate in suppressed ballistics?? Used to be that the 308 and the 223 were the new strange stuff that nobody trusted.

I wonder if this was designed with an eye towards Commifornia where 50 cals. are ilegal? Just a thought. Do you have a link to this?

I just googled it and found this stuff. That's a lot of what they were talking about for use with a suppressor. It's a 7.62x39 bot head and the case looks like a 50 Beowulf idk

Makes sense - kinda like a Barrett 416 based on the 50 BMG - gets around the .50 cal rules, and gives good results. Sounds like this one is using already designed parts to achieve a better/new goal??
