Hybrid Call Material

LONEHOWL

Custom Call Maker
Was asked about the resin hybrid stuff some of my calls are made from. I buy blocks from several guys that pour them up. I also do my own too. Chunks of wood or other material otherwise unusable get put into a mold and resin is poured in with them to form a solid block that you can use for turning or machining. Most are put under vacuum so resin is sucked into the wood to stabilize it and make it solid. They are usually dense and heavy, so they make a good call. I will buy a few pieces here and there if I think they’ll work good for a call and look neat. There are times when they don’t work out so good as sometimes they blow apart or have big voids inside.
Anyways, that’s what it is.

Enclosed reed distress and howler set.

Hey Lonehowl, got those calls in Friday while I was out of state! They look even better than the pics above do!! And what’s even better if they’re easy to play. I still need a little work, but I sounded a lot better than I thought I would since I’ve never owned an hand call! Outstanding work and THANKS!!
