hydraulic recoil buffer????

I am looking to purchase a enedine hydraulic buffer for my AR15 and am curious if anyone has any experience with a hydraulic buffer? Does it really help? Where is the best price? Midway has them for 99.99 on the website. Does it quiet the "clang" of the stock spring and buffer? Is it really worth it? Do they leak at all? Any other advice would be greatly appreciated!

I have a 20" bushmaster upper and lower with a Magpul PRS stock. Just in case there were any questions in regards to my setup.

Thanks in advance for your help and advice!!

I have one and don't really notice any difference in either recoil or noise reduction. I'm shooting it in a .204 so there isn't a lot of recoil anyway. I greased the spring and that helped with the noise more than anything else I've tried.

I had a problem with the rubber bumper on the bottom of the enidine getting pushed up into the housing crooked which caused problems. If I were to do it over again I'd just get the rubber stop upgrade that goes on the end of the buffer. They work just as well or better imo.

And the customer service at enidine is terrible.

Heard bad thing about them failing, but if its for a hunting rig and not personal defense then it is not as important.

I wouldn't but I just figure the spring noise is a part of the platform.

Where can I find the rubber stop upgrade? Do I need to buy a whole new buffer? Thanks for your review, I really appreciate it!

Just put a Tubb CS buffer spring in it and never worry again. It cures the *sprong* noise and requires no maintenance. It has some other advantages that you can check out on their website.

I have a spikes heavy buffer in mine and it seems to help with recoil a bit not a huge difference [beeep]. Had a tubbs spring in it also but took it out and put it in my other gun. Sprayed some Silicone on my spring and it helped a little as far as noise that or I'm just getting used to the noise never heard the noise with the tubbs spring.

Yeah, I'm using that in an ACE stock, no spring noise.

But Doggin has a point, you can no longer go by the lack of spring noise to tell when the mag's empty.
If that matters to you.
