Hydro dipping

I can't exactly remember but rifle, scope and two mags were around $300

I've carried it one season and haven't noticed any chipping or peeling

I don't know about a hot barrel as I don't shoot this gun with long hot strings.

The guy that did mine says he puts more coats of hardener on that factory. I've shot some of my Beretta shotguns that were hot and never had any problems with those. So I assume that this AR will hold up that well.

It shoots ok too

Lee at Black Ice did a great job on mine. Search the web, you'll likely find a company in your area.

The finish, if done correctly, will hold up to approx 450*F. Automotive grade clear coat and some companies use automotive base coats.

Some clear coats have grip additives that provide a finish like a racquetball.

You won't be sorry if you get it done!
