Cows can make calling interesting for sure.

I took my 10 year old son out for some calling "practice" a couple of months back. I have to agree with Kizmo on the Mojo decoy - the cows were fascinated by it and could not stop staring at it and would not leave the area.

They would start to move off when the Foxpro "howled" as they are not big fans, but the Mojo would bring them back.

The lead bull of all these cows was a solitary Longhorn of all things and he had a fearsome and impressive rack. He was none too happy when we tried to pass them to a new spot. He tried to bring the herd into us at a trot when I had enough and spread my arms as high and wide as possible and yelled. Thankfully, that was enough to turn them although I had my pistol out ready to fire a warning shot as I wasn't about to let my boy become cattle road-kill.

Needless to say, our calling was over for the evening.
