Well, here we go on that twist thing now in the .308. I have 4 DPMS LR's from 16 to 24" barrels. My custom sniper rifle is a 1 in 10 Krieger as well.
In my experience it tends to do with loads being consistent in the AR format. I generally run 168 match of some type in my rifles as these are what we use for work. Anyway, my rifles have a tendency to prefer Hornady 110gr TAP, CorBon 125 HP's, Hornady 168 TAP BTHP not the A-Max, Federal 168/175's. See no need to get any heavier than this. These have shown 10-shot groups averages of 1" or less at 100 yds.
Have a SBS Steyr .308 that dearly loves Hornady 110gr Tap loads. Don't be fooled in the 1 in 10 heavy bullet thing like 1 in 8 AR .223s won't shoot light bullets aka...40gr'ers
