Just got off GunBroker. Are people really that stupid to pay the asking price on some items? $160 for 2 bricks of .22lr ammo! $700 for 1000 rounds of 7.62x39! The list goes on and on! REALLY?

I have been thinking the same thing, They must not get out of the house and look around i saw at dicks yesterday a full shelf of 22s and no one buying including me i have what i need. A fool and his money will soon part.

It's not like that everywhere. I haven't seen 22lr on a shelf around here in months. And I make it a point to look every time I'm in a place that has a shelf for 22 rim fire ammo. Same with .223 and 9mm.

Same with .223 and 9mm. I have not seen .22lr in over 2 months anywhere, and I travel through 5 different states every week in search of ammo. Now I have seen the others, .45, 9mm and the likes available. Reloading supplies are still available if you time your visit just right.

No 22LR around her for a few months now either (and CCI is made here).

The 223 9MM etc. thing I can "sorta" understand, but the hoarding of 22 ammo is just plain stupid IMO.
And to those who are buying it up and reselling it for triple and then justifying it by saying they're putting their wives through school or what ever else they can pull out of their azzes to try and convince people they aren't just greedy prix should keep in mind that a great portion of rimfire ammo is used by kids.

ETA,,, I'm sure all these greedy entrepreneurs participating in America's good ol "free market system" are shipping the ammo legally as well as reporting the exorbitant profits on their taxes too.

Nothing wrong with having a good stock of 22LR on hand. Especially with youngsters around, but as we all know, that's not what's hurting the recreational shooter right now.
What's hurting em is GREED, plain and simple.

Yeah I'll 2nd that . I got some friends who have been bugging me to sell a brick or to so they have some ammo , and they offered to pay those crazy prices but I said those were for the boys , and If I would sell a few I couldn't sell for those crazy prices I couldn't sleep at night. You know most people don't shoot very much ammo in a year so I still don't understand why all the suddin they need it now ,

Last week a BassPro, We walked up and down the isles.. no powder or primers to speak of. While in the Ammo isle a guy was stocking some 45 ACP. Rimfires were non existant except for 17 HMR. I asked Him when they may get some 22LR, He said He didnt know, so we wandered around a while longer. The friend I was with made another lap through the ammo isle and the Guy was putting out 2 bricks of Rem Thunderbolt. He told the Guy.. " I will take them!" They only allowed 4 boxes of 50 per shopper. So He grabbed 4, I grabbed 4 and another friend that was with us grabbed 4. That left 8 boxes. They were gobbled up in less than 3 mins. Its Crazy!

I actually seen some 223 at Walmart today. Afew boxes but thats the first time I have seen some in a few months. Dicks sporting goods had a crapload Fri eve. None today

When i was at dicks they had probly a 100 or so boxes of 50 count it was around 2 pm. on Sat. The store was in Columbia SC. The price was high 9.99 a box target.

22-lr what's that

. Ammo around here is scarce at best. Some stores a limiting no more than 2 boxes per caliber per customer. But they have next to nothing in stock. I'm still on back order at Mid south for almost 2 months. I wish I reloaded.

Local Dick's is and has been bare of .22LR for a long time, used to have some centerfire rifle ammo, now it doesn't even have that. Don

I was at a gun store this weekend and saw a guy buying a hand gun and had a box of 9 mm. I mentioned to another salesman it must have been the last box. He said they have a few in the back, if you buy a gun they will sell you one box.

I saw a 525 brick of federal 22lr for sale at a gun store for $125.00 , I told them I don't need to buy anything from them if they need to charge those prices.

I've been lucky at Walmart. Gotten a few bricks for normal price. $25'ish. And a few 225 round Remmy Golden Bullet for $10.

Kevlars

My .22's on hand literally fit in a skoal can on the dash of my feed truck. I find it incredible that you can't find .22's anywhere. Who is stockpiling .22's? Teaching my young nephews to shoot. Deeply saddens me that I have to explain to them about an ammo shortage ON .22 BULLETS!
