A while ago i had posted in this section wondering about building my own NV. A member that goes by try2hunt contacted me wondering what all i need to build it, as he had extra things from his own attempts at homemade NV.
At that point i really didn't know myself what i needed, so he goes and sends me a ej230 camera, 2 screens, and a bunch of other things for a largly reduced price.
In my communication with try2hunt, he connected me with 6mm06. 6mm06 sent me a detailed document on how things are put together and so on and so forth. When i looked at the document, i got cold feet about the whole situation because, 1, it didnt look easy, and 2, i dont have a clue on how to wire things
I began working on it, however, and just like i thought, i soon was completly confused on how to build it.
But thanks to try2hunt and 6mm04, because they directed me through the whole build. Both these guys are great to work with, and if you ever wand to build your own NV, i suggest contacting these guys.
Anyway, on to the build. The basics of this build are, you get a camera that picks up an IR light, put it behind your scope, and attach it to a screen. Its a little more complicated than that, but thats how it works. Yes, its way more bulky than a actual nv scope, but you can build these for 2 or 3 hundred dollars.
I have mine setup on a 6.5 Creedmore. For the illuminator i have a Predator Tatics coyote reaper xxl. This light is amazing!
Anyway, enough rambling, that was probably really boring for yall to read, but i cant write attractively. On to the pics.
Like i said, big and bulky, but way cheaper. I am planning on getting a cheek riser deal to hold my batteries, but rubber bands work for now.
Here is a picture of some of our heifers at around 400 yards. The screen IRL looks much better.
Once again i want to say thanks to try2hunt and 6mm04 for helping me out so much in this process. If it wasn't for yall i wouldn't have this setup!
