I need a cheek riser... suggestions?

I've got a savage target action mounted on a H-S Precision stock. I used to shoot in Fclass and off benches all the time without a problem but I am going out to fields, woods and frozen lakes and ponds now more than shooting in a controlled environment and I am having significant cheek weld problems shooting in less than ideal conditions.

I am open to anything that may help(except the old wash rag under a pile of duct tape). At first I was leaning towards one of the pads you strap onto the stock that will hold a few extra rounds of ammo but I am also thinking about one of the more permanent and adjustable options that would take some drilling and fitting to attach.

For you guys with cheek risers, what are your experiences and opinions? Thanks!

I've used many adj. cheek rest exactly like this one from DIP Inc. and they work great. I have them on all of my HS Prec. stocks and even one on a wood laminate stock. http://www.diproductsinc.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=1189961

You might check out God-A-Grip. They are stick on soft rubber pads and come in several different profiles and many different thicknesses. I have them on AR-15s, an AR-10 as well as bolt guns.

Triad Tactical Stock pack, with, or without the pouches & shell loops work fine for me!!! I have them on nearly all my rifles. Personally, I like them better than the "hard plastic", as they feel more comfortable. Just my personal preference..... Idaho-45-5R

Triads work great if they are as high as you need.
I have several of the old Eagle stock packs but they are long gone.

Thanks for all the pointers.

I would rather have one of the soft stock pads like the Triad Tactical with the pouch and shell loops, that would be great to have range cards and ammo right on the gun. When I shoot long range I walk the whole way so I dont fire a lot of ammo... 1000 yards to set up target, 1000 yards to shooting position, 3 shots later I walk 1000 yards to see my hits and 1000 back... rinse and repeat. Normally carrying my 20lbs 260AI, my AR15(once I walk to within 300 yards I take a few shots with it) and a handgun the whole way.

EDIT: Just got home from shooting 950 yards, according to google earth I walked 2.25 miles from where I parked to where I set up the target then walk to shooting position, took 3 shots, then walked back to pick up the target and back to the car.

What I worry about without trying out any of the packs is if they will fit for what I need, that's the most important part so a permanent adjustable one is quite enticing. What 1Badshee mentioned sounds pretty nice too, I will look into that.
