I want 2 bow hunt NWest TX or Western OK 4 Hogs and Javelina in Jan 2013

I am wanting to reach out for some information from the fine members here at PM for Hog & Javelina Archery hunting in Jan or Feb 2013.

We dont want to pay the big bucks to kill nuisance animals on private property. We are going to be looking for something in the NW Texas or NW Oklahoma area because we will be driving from Colorado and the Southern end of Texas is just tooooo far.

We just spent 14 hours driving to Bonita AZ and another 14 hours back. $600.00 for Diesel fuel because we pulled my 24 foot camper.

Any information or leads would be greatly appreciated...........Coyotes and Bobcats would be an added bonus for us if they are in the area as well.

Thank you!

You are probably not getting any replies because there is no javalina hunting in Oklahoma, and only a very few counties in NW Texas that are open to javalina. Those in NWTexas that do have a season don't have a lot of javalina.

They have a website just search red dirt boar ranch. They are not cheap in my opinion since a hog going over a hundred pounds is $300.00

It says all hunts include 3 days of hunting and 2 night of lodging but only give the prices for hogs killed. It does list 2 days of hunting and 2 hogs for $500.

I have seen a lot of hogs, but never one that was worth $300.00

A 100 pound hog will get you about 40 pounds of meat if you are lucky.

YH,

Thanks for the response on the prices etc.....

I thought the ranches wanted the hogs gone?

Sounds like $300.00 a hog and it will take them forever and then some to rid their farms og Wild Hogs.

Go figure!!

I am looking for a ranch that would like someoe to take care of as many hogs possible in a weeks time, whether it be via bow or rifle, i really dont care as long as i can shoot them without payin outrageous prices for doing the ranch a favor.

I can see paying room, board and meals but c'mon $300.00 a hog?

No thanks!

Kevin

Those are a lot of places (most are high fenced) that load it up with hogs and then sell hunts like those. That is how they make their money. They don't want them gone.

The general farmer/rancher may want them gone, but they are not real likely to just give someone free run of the place that they don't know.

Most of them have people that they know that they let trap, dog or shot them.

Some would rather pay a trapper or shooter to come out, than let a bunch of people just come and run all over their property. Partly it has to do with liability, but mainly just the fact that they don't know you.

YH,

Too know me is too love me! Hahahahahahaaaa

I know what you are saying and i understand.

I am hoping for someone on PM to contact me in case they have a place too hunt? We are not looking for a totally free hunt, but $300 for a hog is CRAZY!

I guess i could put a post in the SWAP section?

Thanks!

Kevin
