This really is the best way. If that's not an option buy a book or 2 or search the net then feel free to ask questions for clarifacation. Those are some really open ended questions and anyone of us could type 100 page replies too.
As for what traps to use yes the MB 650 are probably the best, but also the most expensive. Since this is your first time traping and don't know if its for you I would buy a dozen or so USED Victor 1.75 or #2 traps. Duke will work and are cheeper if you look them over to make sure the condition is good. I would also highly reccomend traps with offset jaws to reduce damage to the foot particularly to no target critters. 4 coil is also optional. The larger the trap the more important that is. Really don't buy new $20 traps unless you have money to burn. A dozen new Duke #2 offset run $85 #3 if legel is $105. MBs run $205 a a dozen.
My personal Favorite land trap is the RC 550. They just fit under our size restriction and are top notch, rubber jaws are also an option.
