Who uses illuminated reticles on their night hunting rifles? I have one on my 6x24 on the .243 and a Ill. 3x9 on the new AR. I got them just in case and because the they were something differrent than I had. But bein since Im new to predator hunting, I really dont know if they are 'all that'. So....are they?

I use a Burris 1.5-6 26mm on my .22 mag for night hunting during the deer season in NY. Love the dot, place the red dot on the animal and press the trigger. Should have one in the fur basket. Before the Burris I used a BSA with very good results as well.

Once you start hunting with them you will not want anything else. Both of mine are Nikons. They have the little cross that lights up. Mine you can go red or green light. What I like best about them is you do not have to look for your cross hair they are just right there. Put it on the animal and pull the trigger.

I have a Burris and a Mueller with electro dots. I don't night hunt, but still wouldn't go back to non illuminated reticles. Look for a reticle that has a broad range of intensity settings, so the glare doesn't wash out your sight picture. Of my two scopes the Mueller has 11 settings and the Burris has two... and the Mueller was about half the price.

I have 3 on my guns and not just for night,I agree once i used it i would not go back to regular scopes, might try a night vision scope when i get the money.I hope you enjoy yours as much as i have enjoyed mine good hunting, mdm.

i have a burris signature series 4x16x44 ballistic plex lighted reticle the reason i bought mine was because dark cross hairs in a dark background dont show up after losing my cross hairs in a dark back ground one time cost me a coyote so i went out and got the lighted reticle scope and i for one will never buy another scope without it and all my buddies that dont have one slowly started getting them on their guns /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif wonder why /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif get one and you wont look back /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
