In Line MZ - Shockwave Vs Hornady SST

What’s the general consensus on the TC Shockwave Vs Hornady SST? Accuracy, overall performance and post impact on deer size game? With 16 days in December and some local places to hunt I’ve reconsidered late season. In the past I’ve used a simple Knight with 44 caliber sabot hollow points with great success. My TC Encore 209 x 50 seems a bit finicky, it seems to digest the two mentioned above but more range time is needed. Thought I’d kick the tires for the boards’ thoughts.

Tks..

Aren't they the same exact bullet? I haven't tried the Hornady "branded" ones yet. I did recently try some barnes bullets in my Omega and needed to darn near stand on the bullet to get it down the barrel. The ShockWaves will slide down with minimal force even with 3 shots down the barrel. That makes me not dare to try anything else.

I've also tried some of my 44 pistol bullets but the "sleeves" or whatever lingity they go by seem to blow out when the bullet is seated all the way to the bottom. making it hard to push down again.

When it comes to accuracy, if I can hit the paper plate at 100 yds with my shots I call it good. Have to use Iron sites here during Muzzleloader season.

I use the Shockwave and have great luck with them.I also believe they are the same as the Hornady.I used to shoot the Barnes Expander they shot really well also.

The shock-wave and the SST is the same bullet exceptof rthe different colours of the plastic tip.

The bonded shock-wave is made just for T/C by Hornady.

They are the same bullet but the sabots are different. The shock wave's sabot with 300g bullet will shoot a one hole group for me at a hundred yards and the same bullet in the Hornady will produce 1" groups. Hornady just switched their red sabbots to black this past year being I believe they caught on to better, softer ones offered by TC. Other that the plastic sabots the bullets are the same.
