hello everyone, I'm searching for some starting loads for my ackley its a factory 700 barrel thats been rechambered so I won't be shooting heavy bullets I have a selection of 50-55 grainers to try just looking for everyones favorite loads!

Go to Speer reloading manual 15 or their site they have loads for the 22-250AI there or use 220 Swift data just be careful on hotter loads, watch for pressure signs.

44-44.5g of Win 760 with a 55g touching the lands, Fed 210 primer.

39g of R#15 with a 50g in a formed case

Psycodogs load is mild, good place to start and work up...your barrel will tell you what it likes.

I hunted while fire forming my brass in my last factory re-chamber, and the load was 38.5g of Win 760 with a 55g Sierra bthp. Velocity on the fire fire forming was 3850 and shooting 5/8" groups.

26 inch Shilen 1/12 Twist..... Although I will be Cutting 4 inches off when I get my Suppressor back. So I’m guessing I’ll probably lose 150 fps but still 3650 fps is very good with the 60’s. And I’ll bet I could get back to 3800 fps if I drop down to the 55’s....

Chad, in the 26" AI that I had, I shot 37g of Win 760 with the 60g berger at 3700, shot bug holes. The most destructive load in 22 caliber I ever shot on coyotes.

I am thinking that a 60g Hornady sp will just pole ax a hog and deer.

Yeah I think you would really have something there. I know those 60 grain Bergers do a number on the Coyotes. I’ve Probably killed 150-200 Coyotes with this Load Combination. And another 100 Coyotes when I was fire forming the brass. But those were with the 55 grain Bergers and 36.5 grains of RL15......I really do love the .22-250 Ackley Improved...

Good Hunting Chad

Put that barrel in a vice and spin it a few times to get an 8 twist!! I like CFE223 in the vanilla 22-250 with 60s, RL15 with 69s to fire form in the Ackley, and RL23 with formed brass. I'm tagging in for data on 60s.
