Inexpensive wireless portable motion detectors

Originally posted in Night Hunting but thought a lot of deer/turkey/bear hunters might find these useful.
Bought a set of these today.
Haven't had a chance to play w/them yet.
They were $99 earlier & he says he's only marking them down for a short time to get some out in the field to get up the interest in them & then I'm sure the price will go up (currently $19.99 + HIS).
They can alert you by light & sound on receiver unit, light only or light w/ear phone to buzz.
I plan on using them @ night for hogs around a feeder to tell me when to wake up/start watching.
He said they are also good for putting on a trail behind you so that they are watching your back while you watch the front.
He ships quick & they seem like they'll work fine. His name is Stewart & he's a nice guy to talk with.
They are paintable except for the "white window" where the PIR is located.

Thanks for the post. I couldn't resist. If it works it can let me know when the deer are in the yard, it is too hot to sit out right now. I like to keep tabs on the ladies, it looks like they may drop fawns earlier this year.
The last few years they have been nursing during bow season.

Those would be great for alerting you to the presence of neighborhood teenagers that like to cut through your yard at night....

Just hook it up to trip the e-caller and some 'fighting raccoon' sounds...maybe they would stay in the street... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You can get the same thing in any hardware store, it's just a repackaged wireless driveway sensor. They do have a ton of uses.

Tested it today.
If you walk across the beam it picked me up @ 22 yards.
However, if you walk directly at it, it didn't alert until 10 yards.
But this is the nature of PIR detectors.
They pick up heat movement faster/further from one zone to the next than they do from the heat source getting closer to the detector in 1 "finger/zone" of the detector's zones.
