I was just wondering if anyone has heard the rumer that it was going to be illegal to hunt all furbearing animals next year .I called TP&W inAustin and they said that they have heard nothing about it ,but they said that it could happen next year .They also said that the coyote was becomming extinct . I just can't see how this is happening were i'm from there every were Hell saw three this morning going to work . Well enough of my wining but if anyone has heard of this or knows the truth please let me know . /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
 
Yuppers, it's true. No more hunting for any furbearers or non-game in Texas next year. Coyotes are almost extinct except for a few tiny pockets of them. (that must be where you saw them recently). It's not looking good. Hopefully that won't spill over to Minnesota.

furflyer- where did you hear such a rumor? It wasn't from the same guy that saw the black panther in his pasture and hears it screaming like a woman late at night was it? He was probably the same one that said they have been stocking rattlesnakes, too.
 
Extinct, no sir

The USDA has spent mega bucks vaccinating coyotes down here in the last few years to keep rabies in check. Hired an outfit out of Canada with twin otters ( twin engine airplanes ) and had the ADC (animal damage control) hands helping out. Dropped little doggie biscuits with vaccine in them all over south Tx. Was a 6 week - 2 month long operation. They based out of here ( Cotulla ) , Laredo, Uvalde, and Brownsville. Lots of money spent there, and coyote population is actuallt on the rise since then, I see more now ( while flying ) than I have in the past many years.

Hey, I heard it from a friend of my cousin who knows a guy who's a brother in law to a guy who actually was involved in the stocking of rattlers in Texas. Don't try to tell me it's not true!
 
Well i heard it from my step dad and he heard it from the people from the local co-op .Well if it does happen then i guess i'll just be hunten illegal unless the gov. can pay for my vet bills .

Yup, heard the same thing. Only it's not so much that predators are becoming endangered, but something else more sinister, I'm afraid. Seems the USFS, BLM, USFWS, FBI, BATF, the UN, and remainants of the Bonano crime family have been conducting secret aerial studies, you know - from those black helicopters, and they've noticed an alarmingly high rate of accidental sasquatch shootings by predator hunters confusing said sasquatch for coyotes, despite their gargantuan height and semi-erect stance. Apparently, the top-secret sasquatch breeding and re-introduction program is in jeopardy of being compromised. This has infuriated our government's alien over-lords.
