Hey guys new to the forums been lurking for a while gathering information l. But today I have a chance to pick up one of these in a .243 for $150 I've never had any experience with this brand so need some input asap. Pros cons if any

Ive got a few of them and love them. Pros are they are cheap, Cons are they are cheap..
All of mine shoot well enough for deer and coyote hunting.
Just got one in 25-06 last year and still haven't shot it for groups. Just zeroed it with some PPU 90gr HP and they shot well enough at 300 yards i could hit my 13" gong at 450 yards all day long from a tripod.

Had one in 223 for years and it has been a handy little rifle. My 6 year old nephew now deer hunts with it (55gr TSX work great) till he graduates up to the Stevens 200 in 243 my girlfriend has been using. Then she gets the 25-06 and should satisfy everyone.

I keep an eye out for them in pawn shops..
125-150 is the goin price for them so far. Highest ive paid is $180 for the 223 8 years ago.

I have one in .243. Buy it. Even if the barrel is shot out a replacement is easy to come by and installation is DIY with the right tools.

Thank you all for the speedy responses! I'm excited to pick this up in a few hours and with some luck it will be a nice truck gun for that price! Anyone have a recommendation on a aftermarket stock or trigger? Picks will be up later!

Its a Savage. Just says Stevens on the bolt. Plenty of choices on stocks, Rifle Basix or Timney on triggers or just a good trigger job.

A few years back I had one in .243 and like a dummy I sold it. It would shoot factory ammo inside 2 inches at 200 yards, like I said I was a dummy for selling it. It uses a blind magazine which is OK but the stock is flimsy. For the price you quote, get it.

The Stevens 200 was Savage's first attempt at an entry priced rifle. The Axis replaced it shortly thereafter. The Stevens had a cheaper stock and trigger, but the action and barrel were the same as the 110 line. The local Academy closed them out for as low as $179. A friend bought several for his grandkids. I am a lefty, so I passed on the deal.

Timney's are great down to 1.5# pull, and probably the best buy.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like the 200 model
can use a stock from a Savage. If that's truly the case, there's
a lot to choose from Boyd's.

Ive got a couple rifle basix triggers in savage and stevens. I like them and if your patient you can find them on sale for $75 every now and again. Or just buy them regular for $100.

I have one in .223. I haven't shot it in a long time but I think I adjusted the trigger pretty easily. Been a long time but I googled up how to adjust the trigger and found a pdf file. I don't think it needs an aftermarket trigger. YMMV

Its just a Model 10/11/12 action without an accu-trigger. Got one setting on the table right now with a Savage barrel and a Boyd's thumbhole stock on it. Anything Savage will work on it. Just make sure of your action bolt spacing when ordering stocks. I had one in 223 that shot great. I shortened the barrel to 18 inchs and it shot better.

Yup, just a Savage action. Wish I had bought half a dozen when they were discontinued. I use Rifle Basix SAV2 triggers.

The action alone is worth more than that.

I have one in in 22-250. It has a rifle basix trigger and a boyds laminate pepper stock on it. I have a target above my gun bench with a group of .44 inches with Varget and 55grn Vmax. Stevens 200's will strait up shoot. I hope you got the rifle.
