The reason I didn't put that into the design, is generally you lube up the O-ring on a call like that. I personally would use the call in the open reed form, 90% of the time, thus wouldn't want a bunch of vaseline on me.
I've got some bells that don't quite fit right, I'll try the O-ring idea on them and see for improved fit.
