IRD just made a huge announcement concerning their IR Hunter series of scopes! They are now offering an upgrade program for customers that have already purchased Mk.II's and Mk.III's. Essentially, if you already have an IRD IR Hunter Mk scope, you can send it in to the manufacturer and have it upgraded for the retail cost difference between your scope and the model you are upgrading to. What does this mean? It means that you don't have to worry about not buying enough scope and losing money trying to sell yours in order to buy the next one up the chain!

How does it work? Simple:

IR Hunter Mk owners call IR Defense Corp directly at (855)-IRHUNTER and tell them which model they want to upgradeIR Defense Corp issues you an RMA# and a price quoteYou ship your scope directly to IR Defense Corp with the RMA# and payment
IR Defense Corp performs the upgrade and ships the scope back

The upgrade program has nothing to do with IRD Dealers. We do not take upgrade orders, process upgrades, or collect money. ALL UPGRADES GO DIRECTLY THROUGH IR DEFENSE CORP.

This program is just another reason why IR Defense thermal weapon scopes are a great value! Please see the IRD press release below:

"We are pleased to formally announce our new IR Hunter upgrade program.

The program is only for the IR Hunter MKII and MKIII systems at this time. We have not discussed any options for IR Patrol upgrades.

Our commitment is to continue to develop innovative technology, bring the end consumer the best in class service and change the way the industry works. We are proud to be a company that brings new programs like our new "one of a kind” rebate program to the market.

This program was developed to provide IRD customers the ultimate purchase security. Offering the ability to change models and features during their warranty period gives the customer no fear of buyer’s remorse.

Look for more to come from IRD at the SHOT Show 2016 and TNVC at booth 6502.

Thanks guys, this is yet another big reason we support this American company and their TRULY U.S. MADE PRODUCTS.

So...if you like your lens (i.e. 35mm) on your MK II and want to upgrade but keep 35 mm (i.e. not change to 60 mm) are we talking just a software upgrade? Cause my example (MK II 35 mm upgraded to MK III 35 mm) is 995.00 bucks for software? Is that what I'm seeing here?

While I certainly will not be the one to comment, you can bet the comments are going to flow. And the first comment will be about how all FLIR software updates are free.

So, I hope I'm mis-reading something here. Otherwise I am envisioning some less than happy customers. Maybe I'm wrong? Just saying...

Regards,

G.
Pessimist?

That is an awful lot of money to upgrade the software to gain a range finder and a couple more reticles. (Correct me if that info is wrong.) I think it's great for the folks who get a 19mm mk2 and want to upgrade to a 35mm or 35mm to 60mm.
