Iray issues

Has anyone been having issues with their IRAYs? I have 4, th50C, gl35, tl35 bolt x2. So far 3 of the 4 didnt make it through 1 season, different things. Thank god i kept a couple Pulsars. Im afraid to run the th50c because the other 3 went down. I got 1 back, quick turn around..seems ok. 2 more getting ready to go in. 3 of 4 down, all less than a year old.

You are not alone. I had a lot of problems. I detailed my issues last year so I won't repeat that thread. If you want a varied look at the IRAY issues the Iray Owners Group on FB has a lot of positives and also people that have problems with various units.

Every manufacturer has issues. Pulsar and Nvision have been good to me but there are plenty of people that have issues with pulsar not holding zero, battery issues with the talion, and LRF issues with the Nvision to name just a few.

IRAYUSA tried to make things right with the issues I had.

I've been running my RL42 hard for two seasons now and have had no issues. Knock on wood.

Ive owned atleast 20 thermals since 2019. Yes they all have their issues, including an nvision i had. A couple pulsars went in for various things. But 3 out of 4 scopes, all 6 months or less old. Not good odds.

Agreed. I had one of my Iray units replaced multiple times and it never resolved the loss of zero issue.

What are the issues you are having?

One lost picture, pivilated. They reprogammed it , seems ok now. Another one lost menu bar and menu functionality,just an image, no reticle or anything. Sent it off. Another one lost power or display, then randomly started working again 2 days later. Stopped on a set in the midfle of a hunting trip. Seems like all software issues.

I’ve had a TH50C for about a year now with no issues, hope that doesn’t jinx me. In fact, yours is the first bad thing I’ve heard about them.
I have an AGM Rattler as a backup and I can’t get a set of batteries to last 1.5hrs in it. I use the external batteries in the iRay and get about 3hrs with each battery.
I’d buy another in a heartbeat at this point.
I’m not a “professional killer” but I do go out a few times a week. I’m a trapper first, and supplement kills with the thermal. Only get paid if things die so it’s been a GREAT scope for me.
