IRS raid of Colo gun shop

I just heard the news today that Gun Smoke Guns in Wheatridge Co. got raided today by the IRS with a search warrant. They must not have paid their taxes.

robbed a week ago or so and invaded and shut down by IRS yesterday. Seems someone is thinking the money trail coming in and out of the joint isn't up to snuff and the robbery may have brought the fact to light when investigators got to snooping around after the robbery, they may have found something that put up a red flag, hence the visit by IRS...

I think it's just a good excuse for the IRS to raid another small business. Cause untold thousands of dollars in legal fee's running them broke and out of business. This administration loves to put the pinch on small business, especially ones involving firearms, it's nothing but a means to the end. This policy is the only campaign promise Obama kept... transparency! In the case of the IRS against small business, its pretty east to see thru!

That said, I don't care for the show at all so thats got no bearing on my comment.

I can't believe that they had no cameras in their shop? After all the thousands of dollars they rip off people and plus being highlighted in a TV show, kinda knew that guy was a tard.... also you CO residents, I feel sorry for yall about the new law, dumbest thing I have ever heard!

It's kind of funny about some of what their trying to past here.

I'm not sure about what year after the Columbine shooting the gun shows in Denver and Colorado Springs have required background check on all purchases of firearms even private sellers. I forget how much the fee is and I've purchased from private seller got background check never bother me.

We have guys in our gun club that are private sellers that have tables at the local shows here in the Springs buy and sell at those shows. Never seen anyone at those shows protesting required background check there on a private sell.
I think the Tanner shows rest of state require background checks.

I understand what the state is trying to do on background checks. Some of those shows be a line wait for background checks why did we agree to that now were suppose to protest what we've or some of us are have agree to do in the past.

your grammer, punctuation and spelling make it tough to decipher what you are saying, so if i got you wrong i am sorry.

it seems to me that you are suggesting that "universal background checks" are no big deal and that if no one cared about checks at gunshows, why should we care now?

first off, a "universal background check" would prohibit a father from giving his son or daughter their first 22 at the age of 12. it would prohibit a husband from giving his wife a self defense carry gun, or a wife from surprising a husband with a new back up gun for his trip to alaska.
but i see a far more dangerous part to our freedoms if this law passes. the new law would prohibit sales between ALL private parties without it going through a dealer or a check. how would the state know when the gun was sold, was it before or after the law went into effect? the only way the law could be effectively enforced is if they registered all guns so they could tell who had what when!
otherwise i could sell to someone a gun that i bought 20 years ago and we could both claim that i sold it to them in 2012, and no one could prove otherwise. also, say a friend flies in from out of state to hunt elk, and his rifle doesnt show up because of the airlines, it would be illegal for him to possess one of yours!
far too many unintended consequences from this law down the road. it is a dangerous time for our freedoms. EVERYONE who owns a gun or shoots someone elses gun should be writing and calling their state reps, and demanding that they vote no on all of these feel good laws!

We should be fighting ALL these stupid laws they are trying to force on us. The guys that think some of this stuff is ok are completely wrong. They just chip away at our rights one tiny bit at a time. They will say, well its only 50 cents per gun to get them registered at first. Then a year later it will be $2.00 a gun, then 5 bucks. Then small fee on ammo, then big fee on ammo. Eventualy they are trying to discourage us out of owning guns.
Same way with checks. First checks, then total registration, then confiscate some guns, then confiscate all guns. That is their agenda. Do not go along with ANY of thes laws.

Thanks for correcting me it nice to see that you can spell "elses" or what is "doesnt" or what "grammer" means sure hard to figure out what your posting about.

I'm posting about the background checks here in Co required at gun shows for private sales. We have done that for years here and nobody seems to mind doing that including me if I wanted to buy one there and pay a fee to do that.

Not one person here knows what the final bills are going to look like. You may not know this but the liability of the seller has been dropped so their chipping away at each bill.

I have a hard time understanding how someone goes to a gun show here buys from private seller then does background check and pays for it thru a FFL, then protest background check on private sale and it be done same way thru a FFL.

You can spin it anyway you want but there lot that didn't about our gun shows here and the back ground checks are ready required

I don't have an issue with background checks as they are now or at gun shows. I would object to requiring checks for all private sales.

On the occasions I've done a private sale, I have the buyer meet me at a gun shop and run a check before completing the sale. Unfortunately, the antis want to use this universal background check as a means to build a firearms serial number registry. That's simply unacceptable.

Do the check, then destroy any government records. Keeps felons from buying, keeps our data out of the wrong hands. Don

Not all private gun sells take place at gun shows. Many people want to be able to sell to another person without the hassle of going to town and meeting at an FFL and then paying a frickin' fee, for what should be an easy face to face transaction, WITHOUT a BGC.
Do you really beleive that felons are going to all of a sudden start doing gun transactions at FFL's because of a new law requireing it?
This particular new law will only place new fees and burdens on the honest people. It will do NOTHING to prevent felons from obtaining firearms. NOTHING...
