I did a search and found too many different anwsers. Some people said it was unnecesssary and others claimed it was vary important to accuracy.I'm shooting .223 in an ar.

for hunting or punching paper i wouldn't worry about it. if you are shooting matches or looking to squeeze out every bit of accuracy i would uniform after the first firing. i havn't noticed any real difference in accuracy either way but for my match loads i just feel better if uniform. and if you're more confident you will shoot better at a match.

I know some say it may be a waste of time but it does make sure that the depth is correct so you dont miss a primer that does not seat deep enough. We all check to see if primers are set correctly but it will reduce the chance of a primer that could be a saftey issue later.

Since your using them in an AR-15, I would advise you to uniform your cases after the first firing. It's much easier to get uniform seating of the primers. High primers can be a big problem with an AR-15. The wide variety of military cases used for the AR-15 can give you some more problems if they are not uniformed. I'm not saying you could not get away without uniforming (including primer pockets and flashholes), but that's your call. I do it, but I'm one of those guys that likes to pick the fly crap out of the pepper. I believe that if you don't want to make as good or better ammo than what's on the shelf, why reload?

I do it if not for just merely taking out one more problem in an equation. Yeah it take a bit to do but once you have done it then you do not have to.

I also do the flash holes as well.

I do it just so my primers all seat exactly the same. I don't know that it improved my accuracy any but it's one of those feel good things I just do.

I only use it once. After that, you really a peeing in the wind and dont remove toomuch, if any material. Same with the flash hole. Done is done. Its kinda like trimming brass, not ALWAYS necessary, but not a bad idea to check on it.

i ream all my primer pockets so they are the same inside the case, and sa long as they seat snuge and even on the outside i don't worry to much about them and i don't have a gun that shoots more than on min. of angle most shoot under a half.
