Hello All;

This is my first Cast call. A bit of a learning curve turning the material :)

Voiced with a LV-002 single reed.

A few mistakes.. got some small chip-outs at the very last of turning. Not to noticeable.
During the interior drilling and shaping, managed to get some runout. It happens..
Cast in Alumilite Poly Resin, making this a durable call.

hehe, you should have been here when I tried some store bought "Inlace Acrylester" !! Like a bomb! NEVER again!
For this material, I have invested in Easy wood brand tools, with negative rake inserts. (made in the USA)
The last little chips happened with a small Sorby Skew... I wll leave that one for wood.

Man I have some excellent wood here, lol!

And a couple of ...something not Resin, not Wood... yeah for later :)
With that material, I hope to duplicate my personal go-to open reed. It is killer.
Would be great if I can figure out how to make a mold to duplicate the toneboard air-ways. The raw toneboards, pre-airway, were always cut from a Jig I had made.
After about 6 or 7 toneboards, the bandsaw blade was toast.
The Airway though, I always did that part by hand, with a Dremel. The Reed, cut by hand.
Takes a long time, with one or two getting thrown away.

Now, I got addicted to casting! 3 blanks are in the Que.
BTW, one can see the chip outs in the pictures. Just say, WOW, this call had that Yote jump me and chewed on my awesome call! :p

I hope to get some sound files going.
But, today was a rough day. 2 hyrdocodone and some Advil later..
Did manage to get my Wolverine-clone sharpening Jig + CBN wheel setup finished.
