Pretty new to night hunting myself. With that said, I've called 7 fox in 5 nights of hunting. Killed 2 missed 2. Screaming grey fox called in 6 of them. Run your call continuiously as well as your red scan light. I use the Xlr lights. I started off using a 17hmr but I'm on the fence on just using 12 gauge. Everything I've called has been in shotgun range and I have found that it is a lot easier to get on them with the shotgun than getting on them with the scope. Every night I've been out I've learned something new. Usually on what not to do. Lol. Good luck!

I have never called in a coon so I have no idea. I do believe you can call them in with the fighting coon call that comes with the spitfire. Again not from experience, just from reading a ton on here.

I heard a real coon fight last week.
Foxpro's raccoon fight is exactly the same.

After the fight, we snuck in and called those coons in with Kettle Creek's Griz and Grey hand call.

Good luck!

A decoy isn't necessary, but conceal the caller in some brush and they'll come in a little closer looking for the "prey". If you're hunting open fields, a decoy can help. I just prefer to travel light...you'll appreciate it too if you're carrying out a critter after a successful hunt.
