ISSUES WITH BSA EDGE SCOPE

Have a Ruger SBH 7.5" 44 mag and needed a scope for the 74 year old eyes. After reading reviews I ordered a BSA Edge 2-7x28 scope and mounted it on the Weaver 310 base. Blue locktite. Optics are clear and if it stands the minor recoil of 265 gr Keith bullet w/9 gr Unique, I could be happy. But...crosshairs are about 15 degrees out of square/plumb w/the elevation and windage knobs. Have not fired the revolver. Have I screwed up mounting scope?

Bad news is I have a hog hunt set for next week and would like to use the revolver, but could use the Marlin 1894 w/red dot.

BTW, I am not a scope guy, and have always hunted/shot w/iron sites, so this is new to me.

Thanks

I have owned and have several friends that own BSA. That being said I wouldn't mount a BSA optic on any firearm other than a rim fire. The BSA models that we did get to shoot on the higher calibers eventually failed. They wouldn't hold zero or the reticle would shift. Per your description you may just have a faulty scope straight out of the box . But for future hunts and scope options I would consider a different manufacturer other than BSA.

I will say one decent thing about BSA optics. I have a friend that swears by their red dots on shottys. Your basic 5MOA red dot with a 32mm(?) OBJ has done quite well for him over the years. He has more than a few. I have watched his shottys retain zero year after year with them. As far as their scopes go- I would put one on a rimfire or a centerfire.
