Ithaca Deerslayer III

I have always used a slug gun for deer hunting and with every slug gun I have ever used, I would never ever think of taken a shot over 100 yards with it. I came across the Ithaca Deerslayer III today and they claim that it is accurate to 200 yards in 4" groups. Has anybody seen this first hand?

Yes and not just with the Deerslayer III. The longer range is more a product of the ammo and not so much the gun. The ammo isn't exactly what I would call "slugs" either, they are shooting the newer style sabots.

The new sabot slugs are more like shooting a modern muzzle loader than a traditional shotgun slug. They're sickeningly accurate comparatively.

Ya last year I decided I would give the Hornady slugs a try. They were accurate as [beeep] but I the performance in the field was not to my liking. So I switched back to lightfields, I just love the knockdown power of that slug!
