Jack in the box vs Jack Attack Decoy

I've read and re-read the Foxpro Literature and viewed every video I can find to compare the two decoys. Any comments on them from people that have used the JIB and viewed the JA would be appreciated. I'm going to purchase one but just can't make up my mind whether I should wait on the JA or go ahead with the JIB.

I have a Jack in the Box and as far as reality goes it is the most realistic decoy you could buy but it has its positives and negitives too. A little pricey but works great, easy to setup by just setting it up on top the snow and that's nice, I'm trying an AR-15 this year and it's like 14 pounds as my pack rifle so I'm not sure yet if I'll pack the JIB or maybe the Mojo Critter because it's lighter. The Jack Attack is a decoy I haven't tried yet so I can't say forsure how it will work but Fox Pro does have some of the best products. I'm not sure if the Jack Attack is available yet because I would like to try one.

I know a lot of people have used and had good luck with the JIB. It did not work that well for me. It actually did seal the deal on one of the biggest coyotes I have ever taken but I also believe it cost me some timid coyotes. It is just a little big, I believe. And, with its big movement, I think it actually scares some immature coyotes. That said, I have more faith in the MOJO Critter and the JA seems to be a little more like the MOJO in size and shape. (I'm sure it's a total coincidence. ) I should be more informed on the JA but especially if it has a speed control, I think it would be pretty much ideal. My $.02 anyway. Good luck!

EXACTLY what I need to hear... I never thought about that, but playing the videos back I certainly see where you are coming from. I thought the "bigger the better" but the small, jerkier motions of the JA definitely makes some sense when thinking along those lines. Thanks bunches!!

I had the same feeling (my JIB is the early one w/only one topper), so I replaced the larger topper with a small coon tail and it works great now.

Where did you get the tail?

Great, THANKS.. I was afraid that there might be a bunch of bob tailed coons running around east of me! Seriously though... wonder how a fox tail would work knowing how 'yotes feel about red fox.

That's a great idea, hm.

And, don't get me wrong. Predators behave and react differently in different regions of the country so the size and movement of the JIB may be just the ticket for other areas. I think smaller is better around here. Again, just my $.02 worth or less!

Yep, them pesky little buggers get plum upset when you chase them down and catch 'em but you ain't seen nothin' 'til ya pull out yer knife & start whittlin on their tail.

Seriously, I used a coon tail I amputated from a cat's weasel ball toy after I had a few hang up or spook when they saw the larger topper. Haven't had that happen since the change. I'd bet the fox tail would work great, but we don't have any fox where I hunt.

That's true; also think it depends on size/age of the particular coyote, as well.
