I'll second that. Actually some guys I know are trying off the wall distress sounds to try in lure in coyote in some of the more heavily hunted areas. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

predators dont/cant recognize individual species sounds...their brain recognizes "distress"...sooo, if you want to use an armadillo in distress in Maine...go for it... it certaintly wont hurt! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

"No-No Reynard, that's just a Jackrabbit squealing , we had that for supper last night. I want a little Red squirrel with a White Wine this evening!"

I loved that psutrapper, great statement, puts it all in perspective, don't it.

I had three gray fox fighting to get to the call one of the first times I used the Lighting Jack sound from Foxpro.

It kinda reminded me of Pruson and Cooper fighting over the last piece of meatloaf at the local all you can eat buffet. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

BINGO! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif I know is... distress is distress and they don't care what it is, they just want to eat it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

The main difference between a jackrabbit and a cottontail call is that the jackrabbit call is often a little louder and coarser and will carry a little farther. And they're right...predators aren't concerned with taxonomy and a species' range...they just wanna eat!
