JBM Ballistics Software vs "Shooter" App for iPhone

Has anyone else on here compared these two ballistics programs side-by-side? If so, do you find JBM to be more accurate?

For me JBM seems to give me almost dead nuts drop data whereas Shooter takes a lot of tinkering with velocity calibration to get it to work. Both programs I have used the Litz BC and all of the same inputs (I triple checked the inputs to make sure I didn't do anything different). The only difference is Shooter asks for bullet length and JBM does not.

For example, today I was testing a new load with 139gr .264 Lapua Scenar bullets in my .260 at 600 yards. Shooter gave me a correction of 3.1 mils, actual adjustment to get correct elevation was 4.3 mils but that was ever so slightly high but due to time constraints I could not correct and re-shoot. It was bothering me on my drive home why Shooter was so off so I decided to plug all the same variables into JBM once I got home. JBM gave me a correction of 4.1 mils, which is probably perfect since 4.3 was slightly high. This is the 2nd time this has happened to me.

Curious as to what others' experience is between these two programs.

I use Ballistic AE on my iPhone which is powered by JBM Ballistics Engine. Trajectory calculator, rangefinder, shooting target log and save all loads to your favorites, etc

Best money spent and puts me on target everytime regardless where I'm at in the USA...sync with phone gps and bingo!

Shot with five different guys a couple weeks ago and by the end of the day, they all switched to Ballistic AE!

There are demo and instructional videos on YouTube

I'd recommend Applied Ballistics app, it's similar to shooter but you can put in corrections and it adjusts the velocity. It makes it real easy to get it on target

I forgot to update my post on here. I had accidentally entered a look angle in Shooter of 37 degrees so the app thought I was shooting 600 yards vs 700 yards. When I got my look angle put back to zero it matched up perfect to JBM and my actual drop adjustment.

Redleg - You can do that with Shooter as well.

I have an Android and Shooter is on it. I find it is very accurate. Haven't compared it to JBM but a long time ago I did and the best I remember (which isn't very good either) they were fairly close. If you put in accurate data you should get accurate readings. All ballastic calculators do is calculate your math that you put in. If you put in the wrong data you will get wrong readings.

Yes, as I mentioned above my error was the angle input.
