I would have to disagree with you about the cougar being any where near palatable.
About three or four years ago one of my buddies shot a cougar, we decided to try some backstrap. (also smoked the ribs, but that didn't get anywhere near our mouths after we ate the "tenderloin".) Will never eat cat again after that experince! Even with BBQ sauce and Tobasco it tasted like sh!t, and the aroma was enough to gag a maggot.
Don't belive everything old Loius says he's from Jamestown ND and anyone thats ever been there will atest to the fact that the place makes you a little screwy!
