I had my Jewell installed and working great in another lower. I decided to switch the trigger out to another lower( and a different upper), and now I'm having adjustment problems.
I got the trigger and hammer in in about 5 minutes. Everything is functioning fine until you start shooting live rounds.
Here is what is happening.
I started out with a few slam fires. I called Jewell, and they told me to adjust the sear engagement counter clock-wise. I did this until the slam fires stopped, but now my gun jams every shot. I adjust the sear engagement screw clockwise until my gun slam fires again. There is no middle ground. Either I get slam fires or the gun jams.
Can someone tell me what the heck I need to do. Jewell is closed until Monday, and I want to hunt in the morning.
Is the over-travel screw setting to blame?
UPDATE!! I called highpowerrifle.com. They are the people behind the good directions that can be downloaded off the net. He told me to check the overtravel screw. It was set up correctly. I took the gun back outside, and the problem continued. I noticed that when the gun jammed, the bolt always was closed to the same position. I figured it out to be that as the bolt carrier went forward it would "hang up" on the hammer. When the gun did not jam, the hammer was never fully recokked (gotta love the spelling, no ***'s here /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif ) thus the trigger was not reset. I called highpowerrifle back, and he told me that he has seen this problem before, and always has had to send the trigger back for replacement from Jewell. THIS SUCKS /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif
Has anyone got any advise? ever seen this before? I never expected a $200 trigger would be this much hassle /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif
PLEASE HELP /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
