Just ask for Mr. Goodwrench

He may be providing the warranty work, but the deductable is gonna be a FORTUNE!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif

You have to admit......

Its pretty great living in a country where on April Fools Day you know exactly where to find the biggest fool of all...!!!

You have to wonder why UAW president Ron Gettelfinger didn't get thrown from the Chevy too....or could it be..that its not how responsible you were for the mess but how much you put into someone's campaign?

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif I don't think he could even open the hood. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

I suspect Mr. Gettelfinger et.al. may be at least part of the reason that there is a bailout in the first place.

Bankruptcy would have left the taxpayer and ultimatly the company healthier, but imagine what a bankruptcy judge would have done to the UAW contract.

+1
Yep, Bankrupcy before the bailout made to much sense and not enough change.. Got to get his organizer thumb print on it first /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

Next, this guy will nationalize auto care. Soon we can all act like a bunch of burnt out postal workers just waiting for retirement. Problem is by the time many of us can afford to retire the gov will be broke. They will simply have the socialized doctors putting us down like dogs once you cannot work for the state.

I'd like to know how the POTUS gets the authority to use tax dollars for warranty work? This guy thinks he's a king or ruler.

Wassamatter Jump, you don't think the IRS should confiscate your money at the point of its gun in order to pay for my Onstar module--and provide me with courtesy transportation--if it goes out w/i three years after purchase??!!

What's wrong with YOU dude??!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

i think that im going to auto repair school. just think of all the paid holidays and all the bennies all the govt employees get. paid sick leave, paid holidays (must be 40 of those a year) personal time, maternity time, and then the retirement. its almost as good as welfare

I think this is largely a pointless thing. There is some law that states that if a company goes bankrupt, it can be forced to supply parts and warranty coverage through a 3rd party. I dont remember it right off, maybe ill look it up later.

And even if the worst did happen, which I dont think it will, we are only talking about supporting a fraction of the cars from one company for a while. I think its 5/50K on GM???

5/100K powertrain, 3/36K comprehensive (4/50K on Buicks), additional stuff for rust through, fit and finish, etc. and that's plus roadside assistance and courtesy transportation.

Yeah, the warranties changed so much I cant keep track.
Like I said, I sincerely doubt the taxpayer has anything to worry about.

But the Democrats sure can make some press out of it.

I always try to remember this old Irish saying.

"Tis many a slip twixt cup and lip"
