Hey guys, just wanted to show off a mount my son decided to do with some bucks we had mounted. The buck on the left was a rifle kill by my son that scored 172”. The buck in the middle was his archery deer from this year that scored 176”. And the little buck on the right was my rifle kill that scored 168”. The bucks on either end came from the same property, the buck in the middle came from another property.

Yeah, all Georgia deer from the same county. The one on the left was an unknown. The other 2 were followed for a couple or three years. We like finding young bucks with potential and watching them grow, but praying and hoping they have good Spring/Summers, don’t get hit on the highways, or even killed by the neighbors, will cause a lack of sleep. Having them patterned and waiting for that perfect wind and then the pattern change before you get that perfect wind can also be exhausting, lol. His buck had us moving a lock on three different times before he connected.

Haha, funny you mention peanuts. My younger son is a peanut inspector and brings me all the peanuts I can handle. I have 55gal barrels full and I feed year round. I bait for hogs, but the deer eat the most. When acorns fall there’s no sense in even putting any out, they’ll rot on the deck. These places have a lot of AG and natural food sources to help with growth and body weight. Good genetics help out as well. So does managing the doe population.
