Kahr .40 S&W

Some of you may recall that I posted about a pocket pistol. I've about decided on the Kahr 40. Does anybody have any experience with this firearm? I'd appreciate any input you've got. Thanks.

Some of my concel carry students were using these. They seem to be quite reliable. As for myself, I didn't like the grip angle on the kahrs, but if you do, go with it

The Kahr steel frame and poly frame 9's are super guns. Some of the poly frame .40's have had their share of problems like walking trigger pins and even warped frames. I can highly recommend the K9, I have two. Well, actually I have one K9 and one Lady K9 for the wife. Both have tritium sights and have been extremely reliable and simple to maintain. I would use some caution and do a little more research on the poly .40's.

I had an all steel .40 and really liked the way it fit my hand. The DAO trigger was pretty decent on mine, and feeding and ejection were very good with little or no malfunctions. It was heavier than ideal (for me) for a carry gun but shot real nice. Todd

I bought a poly .40 about 2 years ago and have been real pleased with it. It passed the 200 round breakin with no feed problems, etc. and is very easy to strip and clean.

I had narrowed it down to the P40 and the small frame Glock (something like a Model 37 ?). The deciding factor was width. The single stacked clip on the Kahr made it a bit easier to hide in the waistband.

I think you will be pleased with it.

I have a poly Kahr P9 and I LOVE it for daily carry. Got rid of my Glock and replaced it with the Kahr. My P9 has been 100% since the first shot, and I'm over 1200 now without a single problem. Super accurate, super light, super THIN.

I'd do more research on the P40 if I were you before I dove in. The Kahr P40 seems to have more issues than any other Kahr pistol. Maybe it's just too much gun for the size/construction. The steel K40 is great but I wouldn't buy the polymer 40 until they get the bugs worked out.

I would highly recommend the Kahr handguns. Have shot many of them however they were the all steel versions. I much prefer the 9mm to the 40 because of recoil factor. My Kahr's are the Elite models and the trigger pulls are really good. I once had a 40 that would do 4-inch groups at 50 yards. Should have not got rid of that one!!! The only problem with the Kahr's are considerable weight for their size.

I am leaning towards the Kahr with the polymer frame. The intent there is to reduce weight. I don't mind recoil in a handgun all that much. However, I am concerned that the frame won't be able to take it and fail. Decisions, decisions.
