kansas fur prices

I sold a fur last saturday, whole coyote unskinned for $5. Add $2 for skinning it. Thats awful, but untill demand increases I guess thats all the better they say. Good thing I go calling for therapy and not income huh!

Wow!!! $5 coyote? That stinks!!! What kind of shape was it in?? Shot full of holes, fur slipping, shot way early in the season, or are fur prices really that bad?

If it was a prime coyote and not shot all to heck, you may want to save up a pile of them and haul them to Dickinson, ND. There's a buyer there that paid one of our board members here, Powderburner, $20 each for 2 coyotes in the round. I know it's a long drive, but if you have a pickup load of them, it might be worth your while.

If you want information about this fur buyer, PM or e-mail me and I'll try to get his phone number for you. I have sold some coyotes in the round to him over the past several years and he has treated me right.

I live in Marion county, between salina and wichita.
the coyote wasnt shot up at all, but not quite prime as i like to see. but he wasnt poor by any means. average i guess. But coons are worth $10 according to the buyer. Poor I know but I would call for free, so $5 is still gas money.

silverfox,
A friend of mine sold a coyote yesterday to a guy in wellington KS and it was in good shape and he only got $5 for it. He sold some coons and the bigger ones brought $10 and the small ones brought $4. Sounds like prices are pretty low. One the good side, he did get a dollar a piece of opussums! They are everywhere. I can easily get 5 of them to one coyote and make as much money. (just kiddin). another place to check the prices in kansas and other parts of the country is to go the the kanoklafurco.com site. he updates prices every tuesday.

NO,
as a matter of fact, i've never shot a bobcat. I've only seen 2 my whole life while i was bowhunting deer. That is my handle because the guys i used to hang with called me that because of the flatheads I used to catch with rod and reel. Going to try and get my first bobcat this year though.
