a person brought in a trophy deer to the monster buck classic to enter the contest. well,it turns out he wasnt the only one who knew about the buck.there was a trail cam pic of the deer from 2 counties away from where he claimed he shot it.BUSTED!!! i dont know how to post links or anything but if you search ' kansas record deer poached' you will get the whole story. its such a shame this deer wasnt taken legally.

Nothing surprises me anymore. Trophy deer + ego = poor decision. Its sad how deer hunting in Kansas has gotten so out of hand.

What a shame. That is an awsome buck. I am not surprised he got busted and am glad he did. With all the people now using trail cam's, poaching is just stuipid. Deer of that caliber are few and far between and when there is one in an area someone is bound to know about it and have pictures of it. I don't rifle hunt because of idiots like this guy. Rifle hunters are looked down upon in my area because of this kind crap that goes on. I have nothing against rifle hunting but I'll stick to my bow.

Agreed Coby, there is little chance a deer like that hasn't been on somebody's trail cam at some point. You gotta be a moron to try shoot a deer like that then take it to a contest and enter it. Camera's changed the game.

That is why I enjoy coyote hunting. Everyone you shoot is a trophy. No poaching required.
