Again, just another post on a hot, boring Summer day.

Do your kids have any interesting nicknames?

My oldest son, Michael, I have called "Bucky", since birth.
At the time, I was deep into hunting deer, & Mike was born on Dec. 1st.

My "middle" son, Cody, I've always called "Cougar".
When Cody was born, he immediately started screaming his head off.
And, almost 24 years later, he still likes to argue & debate about everything.

Unfortunately, youngest son, Devon, never got a nickname that stuck.
I've always just called him "Dev".

To this day, both of the two older boys will only allow me to call them by their nicknames.
If anyone else...mother, brothers, grandparents, aunt...tries to, they get told "Dad gave me that name, & it's just between him & me!!"

My little boy has been "Bubba" since about 3 months old. Everyone calls him Bubba, its stuck.

He's given name is Langdon, but he sure is "a Bubba" lol

My Brother in Law is called Butch, but only by family. I don't hardly get to call him that, but I guess I have made my way to the "inner circle". His real name is Donald.

My wife is usally called by her middle name. It was her Great grandmothers name. Only me, her parents and siblings get that privilege.

I call my 7 year old daughter "hillbilly" bc she's like her dad and enjoys being outdoors and my 5 year daughter, I call "zippy" bc she is constanly moving around and can't sit still.

My daughter is now 15 and my son is 12. Several years ago my daughter started calling my son bugs. We asked her why she was calling him that and she said "becasue he bugs me". It stuck and we have called him bugs ever since.

I have 5 kids and all have nicknames.

Mikeal is 14 and his is Mikeal P. Magillicutty. Sometimes just Mikeal P.

Garret is 14 and his is Bear

Mayson is 11 and his is Boshk

Novah is 11 and hers is Novascosia

Gavin is 9 and his is R.J. Buttruffles. Sometimes used together and sometimes either or.

They all came from different people in the family and they all have stuck. As they are getting older, they sure can get embarrased at ball games when the whole town knows the nicknames. haha

My 12 year old daughter is known as "The Kid", or just,"Kid" I am the only one who uses this knickname for her.

My 8 yera old son is "Boss" or "Possum". He got possum the day he was born because all his toes were the same length and looked like possum feet.

My brother is known throughout our family as "Uncle Dummy" because my daughter couldn't pronounce Uncle Jeremy and called him Uncle Dummy....and it stuck. My mom hates it when the kids call him that...he is her baby still at 34 years old.

I hated the nicknames my father had for me. Later my friends had some new ones I didn't care for. Never hung one on any of my kids.

Thought I'd also add my sister's nickname. (only our parents use it though)

Her name is Carol.
But for some reason our folks have always called her Jane, or Janey, or Janey Lee.

my kids were jo jo bean {jody} Little buddy {Moseley}
angel baby or Breezy {autumn}
grand kids are
kayla bug {makayla}
brooke trout {brooke}
little buddy {casey 2}
rhea bear or PaPa's girl {oceaynna}

We all have nick names. The one I enjoy the most is my monster in-law, I affectionately call her "Goombaw".

If you have never read "The night the bear ate Goombaw" By Patrick F. McManus, do yourself a favor. My belly hurts every time I think of it, and her.

My youngest son, Timothy, is called Timbo. It came from the old John Wayne movie, Hatari, when they named the lady that adopted the baby elephants, "Mama Timbo" (supposedly translates to Mother of Elephants). We knew long before he was born what we were naming him, and I started calling my little wife "Mama Timbo" while she was pregnant - she loved it

. The name stuck. He has adopted it so much that he often changes his own name to Timbothy on school work and other papers. The other three all have nicknames too, but his is the most used.
