Has anyone used the. Kill Squeak by Miranda traps. It makes sound of injured rodent for 2 days on battery and sounds off and on automaticaly every 10 sevonds, if it would attract coyote walking by trap.
You talking about the little green box? If so, didn’t work on coyotes “for me” but it’s deadly on fox and bobkitty’s. It also lasts about 2 weeks. Tried it in a hole with line attached I could pull out, but my most success came from it in a tree. I tape it to the underside of a limb with the speaker part down incase it rains. I let my bait or lure catch the critters…the squeaker just attracts them to my set.
Look near the orange flagging in the tree and you’ll see it taped on the limb.
They work for bobcats. I imagen they are less effective on coyotes but could still work. How long they last depends on the quality of the batteries used. They will often run for much more than 2 days. I believe they advertise something like 10 days using high quality batteries. I have had one run for well over 3 day on cheap Harbor Freight batteries. They are defiantly good for bobcat. They are often used for cage trapping bobcats and I have caught a bobcat using one.
I have also used the Kill Chirp which is the bird decoy made by the same company. I was less impressed with it. Had to change the batteries every other day. When the barrerites got low it would make a buzzing sound which is probably counter productive. The Kill Squeak seems to just get softer as the batteries get low until it shuts off.
