Haven't actually seen this one but a local guy I called described it as a light-medium contour SS fluted 24" barrel with walnut stock. What is a good price on a lightly used one? Is this basically a 84M Classic with a SS fluted barrel? What model do they call it?
TIA
Dave

I have the Kimber varmint in 22-250. I think this is the same gun you are looking at. Mine weighs about 7 lbs., has the 24 inch stainless fluted barrel and has very pretty wood and an excellent trigger. This is a very good gun. My 22-250 will shoot 1/4 inch three shot groups with the hand load that it likes. I am not kidding it is that accurate right out of the box and is one of the best varmint / predator guns I have used. New they cost about $800.00 to $900.00. Look on: www.gunsamerica.com for used prices.

Thanks guys. This one has a 6.5-20 Nikon Monarch for $950. I would go to those sites but I only have 'puter access and work and they block sites like those.
Thanks

I went on the Gunsamerica site for you. I found 2 new Kimber 84M varmints in 204 and 5 new 22-250's. A Company called Sports Outfitters Inc. has a new in the box Kimber 84 M varmint in 204 for $849.00. If you can find a way to access the gunsamerica site or do a search and get their phone number that might be the way to go and then buy the scope you want to put on it. I have a leupold vari-X III 4 1/2 X 14 on my 22-250 and it balances very well with that scope. The 5 new 22-250's ranged in price from $849.00 to $979.00. The other 204 was listed at $925.00. I didn't see any used guns.

I'm thinking I wouldn't be too bad off if I can get this one for $850 with the scope. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Don't need it but what the hay.
Thanks again Lonedog

Wellll, went and looked at it and it is a Pro Varmint in 204. Laminated stock hvy SS fluted barrel. It was filthy and the brass he tried to give me looked awful. About 2/3rds of the way down the body they were scored like the die had a sharp edge, I wouldn't reuse them on a bet. Anyway it got me nervous and I looked in the chamber and I could see a scratch from when the chamber was cut. I have seen worst. He wouldn't budge at $900 with scope and the scope had a ding on the adj cap. I left it.
What do you guys think?
Dave

Well, the die he used is what damaged the brass. I saw it and it had a step in it, like the body moved when it was reamed. Bought it with the Nikon 6.5-20, the super small scratch in the chamber is a non-issue. I doubt most guys would have even noticed it.
What do you guys feel is the most accurate factory load?
I will do some handloads with 32gr Vmax and 39gr Blitzkings using RE15 and Benchmark.
Thanks
Dave
