Konus Scopes

My buddy just asked me about Konus scopes and I have never heard of them. Does anyone have any experience with them. I am looking for good or bad. The prices make them very questionable to me. Around $100.

FWIW I was just at my local OVERPRICED pawn shop today and saw these NIB, and I didn't even take a second look. Just seems to me if a pawn shop is a dealer it would be pretty low end.

Absolute trash. They do offer a unique 'donut' reticle but in my opinion they are junk. Period.
My buddy had a couple of them over the years and ended up smashing (literaly) both of them and replaced them with Nikons and solved his troubles.
I would never put a $100 scope on a quality rifle.Never.

There is no free lunch and optics are no different then anything else, you get what you pay for.

lol . had the m40 pro i belive and moved the turret to my 300yrd zero to shoot a deer it moved off on me so i moved it back down and missed two more deer the next day so im like theres something wrong .so i check it on paper .at 100yrds i waas shooting a foot half high. the turret sriped out on my 300yrd zero and it would adjust up or down the turrent would move but it wouldnt move the crosshairs..i finally got ahold of them and sent it in. they said we will ship a new one out when we get it well two and half weeks later i called they said we will ship it in the morning . two weeks later i called agian. got the scope a week later.. i wouldnt put another on my gun if i had too. any thing above 16 power wouldnt work on it couldnt clear it or anything

Thank you guys. I was pretty sure they were crap, but just wanted to make sure. I have told him I love my Nikons. I am about to buy a new one for my 22-250. Just not sure which one I am going to get.

i liked mine intill i found out abouve 16 power wouldnt work and it broke like that in middle of deer season... like koh said about someone smashing theres i about smashed rifle and all around a tree.

I have one on a 7mm rum had it on there for around 3 years and never had any problems with it. The only thing I dont like about it is that it gets hard to see late in the evening. But what do you expect in a $150 scope. If thats all you have to spend to fit your budget then it will work just fine. Everyone cant afford a $500 and up scope. I have some cheap scopes and some expensive scopes and they both shoot the same.

If you want a really good scope for a great price,,,go to natchez and check out the close out intensity,,,weaver bought them out,,liftime warranty and if anything should happen to them i believe you get a weaver 44 mag in return,,,,,very very good glass under 100 bucks.

If you want a pretty good optic at a reasonably low price...Check out Mueller Optics... I have two of different power structures and both are holding up well after five years...

The smaller one has had some reasonably rough use and still holds 'zero' and has an illuminated reticle..

Those closeout Intensity's are about the best deal going I know of also. Your simply not going to find a better bang for your $$. on a Phillipines made scope.

Considering Burris FFII's, Burris Timberlines and most of Nikons scopes are made in the Phillipines now it's a few notches up from CHINA.

Like coyotex posted ATK has bought Weaver again from Meade optics, so there closeing out the Intensity line as they have the new Weaver 40/44 series wich are very similiar except price.

Theres plenty of posts on rimefirecentral. on Intensity scopes if ya do a search.

I have a Konus M-30 on my 300 WSM it has been great. I have found the turrets hold a zero very well and have a very soild click. I really enjoy the internal scope level. Optics are clear and gather light better than my Nikon Buckmaster. I took a deer last year at 513 yards, used my turrets for the elevation adjustments and it worked great. I would buy another one. Not to mention they have a no questions asked life time warranty.
