Is this milspec brass thicker and hold less powder for max loads??? Any advice....to save a few bucks or spring for commercial Rem or Win brass.Afish4570

I have heard that it is excellent brass. No primer crimp and excellent life span. But Natchez Shooter's Supply has the same brass on sale right now for $119.95 per thousand.

I bought 2K when it was 129$. I weigh and sort it, and it's mighty fine brass. I use it form everything from 20VT to 20Tac. Great Brass, I am going to order another 2K at the first of the year, ADam

It weighs the same and has the same wall thickness as commercial brass. Black Hills reloads all their re-manufactured .223 stuff in a mix of cases (including LC) and they shoot fine.

I weighed a whole bunch of various brands of .223/5.56 cases, and as near as I can tell that "heavier brass" story is a myth. I never found one.

In .308/7.62 the military brass is much thicker/heavier. Don't mix that stuff together, you need to develop a different load for the military brass.

I purchased 500 rounds the last time it was on sale and have only processed the first 100 rounds that I'm currently using, but have found no problems with it...I won't get into the rest of it, until these have exhausted their life span..

Brass was all de-primed, pocket cleaned and swaged on crimped, washed , tumbled, sized in a hornady bushing die .244 , tumbled, trimmed, de-burred, tumbled. + or - .002 on trim. Brass is all once fired as is as close as I can presume.

The mixed lot of LC proved to be by far the most consistent with RP and WCC in second and third. Not overly
controlled or a very large sampling but confirms what everyone believes about different brass on the forums.

From my notes two years ago. I didn't go nuts on weighing large batches though.

The LC brass is very good, but if you are looking to save a buck, buy some once fired LC brass for about 1/2-1/3 of what that new brass will cost you.
