laser bore sight / scope eye relief questions

Hey folks: I just received a refurbished "SSI Sight-Rite™ Bullet Laser Bore Sighter" for my .204, pretty cheap on eBay. Seems to work ok but one problem - no instructions! I can't find an online manual anywhere, even SSI's site (search on OM yielded little to nothing). Could you guys lead me to the proper use of this gadget to sight in my scope?

Also, what is the best way to determine proper eye relief for scope? If it helps, I have a .204 CZ 527 w/Nikon ProStaff 3-9x40

THNX!

Have not used the Bullet type laser but I would suppose you put them in the chamber turned on then adjust your cross hairs to the laser point projected out the muzzle.

As far as eye relief is concerned. Put the scope on the rifle mount the rifle the way you would when you shoot. The scope should be set to its lowest power. You should see no shadows or rings in the scope. At that point you are close.

Then close your eyes and mount the gun again, you should have a clear picture when you open your eyes. Now take it up to the highest setting and try again. Adjust the scope position so you still have a clear picture. Do the closed eys thing again. You the should have it at the right eye relief for you.
