From what I have heard that they work great if you are not hunting in the cold climates if you do then they will tell you to rubber band a couple of hand warmers to the outside of the unit to keep the unit warm or else it takes to long to get it going in the cold.I have also heard that some of them have had problems with the pressure switches.Other than that I have heard nothing bad about it,I would like one but the cold climate thing stopped me in my tracks.

machinist and big8buck....i appreciate ur inputs...thanx....i'll keep watch'n this for more opinions...the cold issue isn't a concern for me but noted-thanx....
i take it the BSA optics relationship isn't a big deal....

I have one and it works great when its warm but if its cold say in the lows 30's it doesn't work. Ive tried the hand warmers both times it was in the teens or lower and it didn't work. i have used it when its cold as a scanning light and just keeping it in my pocket and it has worked i got mine from Natchez shooters supply it was 299 but it came with a $50 gift certificate.

I bought mine on line from lasergenetics.com for $329.

It is a great product if you do not hunt in winter time. Mine quits when temperature was in the mid 50's. It lasts about ten to fifteen minutes and the green circle disappears.

I returned mine for refund three weeks after I purchased it. It has been four weeks since I sent it back and BSA still has not credited my account.

I just bought an LED light with 900 lumens output for $150.

This thing can light up a hog at 100 yards with ease. It runs on rechargeable Li-Ion battery ($10 per battery), which lasts about 70 minutes. I think this is much better deal than the ND3, which is a great concept but the bugs are not yet ironed out and price is a tad too high.

An update on the refund. It took a little over four weeks for the refund to show up on my credit card account. That is not bad at all. BSA also made the full refund.

I have to give credit to BSA on this one. Once the thermal bug is ironed out, I probably will purchase another ND3.

I do a lot of animal damage control work in Southern AL and have been happy with mine. The darker it is the better it works. Wish they had a scope mount for a 30mm tube.

IMHO it is a piece of junk. The first one I got didn't work at any temperature, and the second doesn't work in the cold. It is not very bright, and I would guess allows only 100 yards or so for a shot. Of course, I am only guessing, since I will have to wait until spring to actually use it. My advice would be to avoid this product.

I had one that a rep wanted me to demo, and I was not impressed with the unit. I was having to focus the beam down too far/small to be able to see. At 100 yards I could forget it other than using it as a pointer and not an illuminator. This was early Dec. in South Texas and the temp was in the mid 40's.

I have seen a lot of comments about problems associated with cold temperatures..........can't provide any input regarding that issue. I live in Florida.

At the time I was unaware of any issues due to cold, but it does not matter at this point. I still would not use it.

For less money I would buy a Lightforce Night Hunter pack, and they even have a green filter for it.

Just mounted one on my gun looks like it will work good if it holds its charge in cold weather. Will put it to the test, been pretty cold in NE lately.

Just a heads up if anyone was considering buying one of these. They dont work in cold weather. So if you predator hunt at night in the cold winter months this product is worthless.
Sending back this POS to BSA
