last weekend till june for Ohio crows.

GOOD LUCK..
I wish we could there is more ravens here then I have ever seen.
I've been trying to find out if we could shoot them here is what I just found out.

I have sent Three E mails to our Fish, Wildlife and Parks to find out if we can shoot and call crows and Ravens. The first two where off there sight to there enforcement Bureau. The last one I sent to there General Info E address in Helena to get the proper department. I don't know there policy on answering Questions like that but I would thing who ever got an "E" would or Could forward it to the right department, I don't Know ,Just saying...

If I ever get an answer before there all moved back up to the Attic circle I'll pass it on and let the whole world know if it's legal to blast Mexico's national bird in Montana...

Here is there Answer:

Thanks for contacting us with your question. Crows are Federally protected. If you should have any further questions, please contact your nearest US Fish & Wildlife Services office.

Well then ...

With a blank answer like I got , Montana must NOT have a season so we Can't shoot them !!!!

For the last couple of weeks there have been a dozen crows hanging out in my front yard. Been giving the whole sniper thing some thought myself. Good luck.

Only killed 2 todAY,,with the archangel...Very windy,,but they were diving in at all angles.

Had the opportunity,,to kill 9...missed 5..2 more i couldnt get the shot i wanted so away they went.

Killed one at 60 yrds...one at 85.

All the misses were close 30-40 yards,,,think the angle had me shooting over em...plus leading the wind at 40 mph.

Had a absolute blast,,,still grinning about it,,becoming one of my favorite things.

In Mass. the season starts in July and runs till the first week or so of April. Only legal to shoot them on Friday, Saturday, and Monday.

Only 2 more today,,not exactly going out with a bang.

Both shots at 40 yards with the archangel.

They were not responding nearly as well as friday,,only 6 came in with 4 landing...2 for 2 on shots, zero wind.

I will have the new hummer built by june...will be my main crow rig.

Nope. The answer is correct, it's the law that's ridiculous and even my local wildlife officer admits it is. Under the Federal migratory bird laws, the crows were included - intentionally or not - for some protection because they belong to the same family as some other "good" birds. Our OH law covers the max. number of days allowed by the feds, I believe: only shoot them Fri., Sat., Sun. only and, as was stated no hunting from the middle of Mar. thru the middle of June (guess we have to give the worthless s.o.b.'s time to breed even more!) Maybe we can convince the lawmakers that crows kill a lot of other beneficial birds and songbirds, either outright or by eating their eggs and food sources. btw, my SWO also says he's seeing more ravens in our area; guess I didn't realize there's a difference, but the ravens are even larger than crows and their beaks are different.
Another worthless bird I'd like to see de-protected is the black buzzard. They're now in my area, and they don't wait for critters to die - they're "pro-active"; kinda like the old 70's "patience my a--. I'm gonna kill something" buzzard cartoon.

they are concidered under the Migratory Bird Treaty with Canada and Mexico. they fall under the same regs as waterfowl.before that treaty, we could hunt them monday thru saturday here in Ohio.
