lead for 9mm

Im new to reloading and was wondering if there is anything you have to do in order to use lead bullets.Is there any effect on the gun by not using jacketed bullets?Thanks for any replies.

Generally nothing special. You will want to reference the load data for the cast bullets and not their jacketed counterparts. General practice is to avoid use of lead in polygonal rifled barrels, i.e., Glock and H&K.

It will be used in a ruger sr9c and lc9.Really hard finding componets now.

You will have to flare the necks a bit more for lead, otherwise good to go using cast load data.

Thanks for the info.The way supplies are I figured to use the lead just for some trigger time.
