Leatherwood scopes

Just wondering if anybody has any experience with them... The Camputer ART Series, or the Varmint Country Series. I have seen quite a few positive reviews.

I have had 2 leatherwoods that went bad-one on a marlin 22mag (after 5 rounds) and 1 on a 308. it got real ugly before they honored their warranty. I wouldn't take one if someone gave it to me to throw away.
one of these scope deals is why I no longer deal with mudway-they will leave you hanging high and dry, also.

Just curious... Did you ever contact Leatherwood directly? If so, what did they have to say?
I have heard some of the same about Midway, but they have always taken care of me...

Thanks for the info...

The first scope I contacted mudway and was told I was on my own since the scope had been mounted. They would not give me an email addy or contact at leatherwood. Finally got in contact with leatherwood and was told to send the scope back. then when they received it they said I needed to send them some money-don't remember how much-to cover S&H. after I advised them where to put their scope, I received it back(repaired) and promptly sold it to someone I disliked. the 2nd scope was pretty much the same story except mudway was not involved. I even offered to fly out to leatherwoods facility and show them where and how to put the scopes but they turned me down.

I think Leatherwood made their name during the Vietnam era selling scopes to the Government. They are not the same company now.
