How do they stand up for quality and consistency, noticed you can get 3 dies (including the neck sizer) for $30.
As long as were talking about dies how are Hornady new dimensions dies?

I've been using the Lee dies for years and have never had a problem with them. I especially like the deluxe rifle die sets that come with both the full length and collet neck sizing dies.

I mostly use RCBS but I do have a few Hornady die sets, I also have some custom die sets from C-H and Bonanza. I would say the Hornady sets are onj a par with the RCBS and Bonanza sets and real close to the C-H dies. I do not use LEE, from the ones I have seen, and the problems I have heard of with rough finishes, I would not use them. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

There is nothing wrong with Lee dies, but the Hornady's are superior in terms of finish. The Lee collet neck dies are super convenient, however.

I got rid of my last Lee dies at the gun show if that tells you anything. I use RCBS, Hornady, Forster, Dillon, and Redding.

I like the decapping system in the Hornadys Zip spindle FL sizer. The collet type Hornady Match dies are great with the shoulder bump feature, but they need to make a few more collet sizes for them like Redding and Forster do. Hornady also makes the best locking rings. Hornady's seating system works nearly as good as the best match grade seaters.

I have been using LEE equipment for years and have never had a problem with them. In fact I sold my RCBS and like the LEE better. I think it's one of those Chevy Ford Dodge arguements. Everyone is right or everone is wrong.

(Except me, I'm always right) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It is amazing.. reading all these comments about Brands. some work. and some dont. But that is with each user.. Lee, Redding,RCBS, its all kind of confusing. I really enjoy seeing the display of what works well for some folk... and what doesent for others.

Another vote for Lee Deluxe set.

Hornady has better finish than Lee and it does look more classy. However, I have not yet found anything as good as Lee Collet sizing die. No need to lube case and case life is at least twice as long.

I am a newbie hand loader. Just shot my first reloads using the Lee collet die. I'm still here so I didn't blow myself up, LOL!

I had zero problems getting the neck tension right the first time out. Like the other poster said the are super convenient especially with the Lee Challenger press that has the quick change bushings.
