I think ya would look more like a witch doctor coming to a sacrafice with those neck orniments. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Just need a couple calls in your lobes, one through the nose, and one stuck in the bottom lip(Good spot for turkey friction call) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Speaking a which...REAPER ya still owe me a 500 looped lanyard. When your not busy humming the bad boys tune of course. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Just funnin, very nice calls.

Todd

I don't have a Horn Dog call in my collection sorry to say, but I do have a few calls sitting around doing nothing. Your obsessed with predator calling? You're not alone lol.

I need some dreads, that double as gillie. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gifThen I will have the witch doctor thing down. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif My friends laugh when I jump out of the truck with my witchdoctor necklace, but I do all the calling & they just wait with itchy trigger fingers. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif Go figure.

HDH I would be carefull jumping out of the truck with all of those on, you might put out an eye /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yea, I have tried to narrow it down to 2-3 a couple of times. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif I will some day. I have a couple sweet sounding customs that I make, but still like to try commercials & other call makers calls. I like to see how the animals react to different sounds. Go figure, a call maker doing research? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

I have a witch doctor and seem to make a ton of noise with calls flopping around on it. I solved this by putting them inside a coat or jacket but then they were hard to get to when I needed them. Any suggestions on how to silence the calls a little? I thought about using electrical tape on the oustides of them but I think that even if it did work I could only pull it off if I got one of those tinfoil hats I have heard so much about. I also thought about using a little foam pipe insulation, but that would make them quite large. It also might require an upgrade to an armadillo hat. Right now I am just using a camo waistpack that is full of calls and such. This works okay, but I am left with no where to put the call when I reach for another one other than back in the pile. that is unless I want to put it down on the ground in a pasture and then put it back in my mouth with the extra flavor. Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated

I will post pics tonight but I allways have a critrcall standard and pee wee on one side. then on any given day depending on where I have been and what calls I have used there I have atleast two of the following on the other side one of buckwheats custom adjustable closed reeds, tho open reed, a little plastic open reed howler that I got from a buddy, arky screamin demon, lil dog from primos, with a australian fox whistle on the laynard attached to a key ring. also I keep atleast two howlers in my pockets. one is allways my power howler and the other a custom from either arky or soon to be buckwheats, or dave dunbars horn howler.

Witch Doctors, To keep your calls quite, cut the fingers off of rubber gloves, not the thin surgical type. Cut the very tip off the finger and roll it onto your call.

Weasel-UT has the fix. We have been using the fingers from the neoprene gloves that are left over from the previous duck season. Also, after hunting season Wal-Mart has a big sale and we bought 4 pair for $2.00 each. That is a lot of call covers. This is an old time fix, but then coming from that old guy Weasel-UT you got to expect the best ideas to remain at the top of the list as he has had years to filter out the lesser ideas.

That good looking guy poising as 3rd Alarm also has a great fix. Loren Reese makes lanyards that are just darn nice and you would be hard pressed to get calls hangin’ on a Reese lanyard to flop around and hit another call. This of course would negate the need for call covers.

Right now nobody would want to see my lanyards,LOL. They need a little more filling. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif Horndog,
I'm sorry...don't mean to jack your thread, but what is your opinion on that Zepps call? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif
I posted a question about those "Rattler"s on the hand call forum, but only got 1 reply, so I'm curious.
Thanks, & again I didn't mean to jack the thread.

Will

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I think I see the light now, as the lanyard I have has springs on it to close the loops. Those lanyards suggested by 3rd Alarm look top notch. Might have to get me one when I get back on my feet (hernia surgery).

I guess I may have hijacked this thread a bit as well. Sorry bout that horndog.

The Zepp I have is the double brass reed & is the Jack Rabbit in distress. It is the loudest call I own. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I have called in yotes with it. I would never start with it. It would probably scare everything out of the valley. I think it is great for screaming across big spaces, when nothing else seems to be working. If I have anything coming into it, you can bet I would switch over to something a bit quieter, once I had their attention. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
