So whats your opinions on Leupold rings and bases? I have severl buddies that will not use anything but Leupolds optic mounting system. I have no experence with this syle. Any known problems?

It depends on which set-up you're considering.

I like the STD bases but will use Burris rings if I can, I like the inserts.

Their dual dovetail are rock solid, sleek and hold well. They're a good option.

MK-4 bases and PRW rings are excellent. Very well made.

No experience with the rifleman stuff, and absolutely no plans to try em.

I've had leupold standard rings and bases on several rifles. Never had a problem with them. They are my preferred setup as well.

I have used many different mounts and rings, and keep coming back to Leupold. The last 2 scopes I mounted were in the Dual Dovetail setup. I also use a ring reamer and lapped them as well. They are strongest, stress-free mounting system I have ever used.

Same here...I wont turn my nose up at Burris...but Leupold when possible.Originally Posted By: yotehtr1I've had leupold standard rings and bases on several rifles. Never had a problem with them. They are my preferred setup as well.

I'm with pahntr760. Dual dove tail Leupold bases with Burris "double dovetail" (I think they call them) rings. These match fine, make for a rock solid set up, and Burris gives you the ring insert then that protects the scope from getting all scratched up. They also have adjustment inserts if you need any straightening, without having to do that inside the scope itself with your adjustment knobs. I've used this combination on the last 2 rifles I scoped and have been very pleased with the end results.

myself my go to ring setup are conetrols they are the best looking, slim, projectionless, and machined perfectly. Rock solid hold on the scope but they are expensive.
